Four held for ‘attacking’ women

KASUR: Phoolnagar police on Wednesday arrested four of the 75 men who were booked on Tuesday for humiliating three women in Jamber Kalan a couple of days ago.

The police booked 75 people on Tuesday on the complaint of Shahnaz, who alleged that about 200 people stormed her house and thrashed her and her women guests on the pretext that she was running a prostitution ring.

Police have arrested Sadiq Mughal, Rana Intizarul Haq, Jamil Ahmed and an unidentified man. However, the main accused has not been arrested. Fear gripped the village as police stepped up raids to arrest the accused. The locals feared that police might arrest even innocent people to appease the court, which has taken notice of the incident.
