Four cops suspended for beating journalist
LAHORE, Oct 20: The SSP (operations) has suspended from service four constables and issued them show-cause notices for allegedly torturing a photojournalist of a local TV channel.
Constables Sajid Ali, Mansab Ali, Muhammad Jehangir and Irshad Ahmed of the Shalimar police station had stopped Muhammad Usman on the GT Road for a routine checking at around 10pm on Sunday.
After having harsh arguments, police officials beat Usman, took him to the police station and gave him a sound thrashing. He was later released on the intervention of some journalists.
An inquiry into the incident was also marked to the Civil Lines division SP.
