Focus on environmental journalism stressed
Karachi: Sindh Minister for Environment and Alternative Energy, Shaikh Muhammad Afzal, said that due focus of media on environment-related topics, knowledge of people about different environmental problems is increasing.
This he said while talking to a delegation of students of Mass Communication, who called on him on Monday in his office. He said that the subject of environmental journalism had got huge importance in the western world. It was widely taught in the universities of American and European countries, adding big publishers provide job opportunities to such students who excel in this subject. He regretted environmental journalism is yet to get proper status in Pakistan. He said that rapid industrial development environmental problems were increasing in developing countries.
