FM radio stations holding national summit today
ISLAMABAD: A group of 60 FM stations serving on air in Pakistan will gather on Saturday to discuss ways for improving professional and technical standards and enhancing the burgeoning sector’s profile as the people’s media.
The “National Summit of FM Radio Stations in Pakistan,” will be the largest gathering of the radio sector in Pakistan’s history as FM stations from all six regions of the country including Balochistan, Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh and Azad Jammu and Kashmir will participate in discussion.
The summit would discuss the role of FM radio in Pakistan community mobilisation and sharing success stories of community service and bring together both independent and state-run FM channels as well as university campus stations. It will also discuss building a community of peace on air in Pakistan, it added.
