Exhibition seeks peace through literature

LAHORE: Kaneez Fatima Literary Society held an exhibition titled “Peace Through Literature” in collaboration with Lahore Museum at City Heritage Museum (Old Tollinton Market), Lahoreon Thursday.

Acting Head of Programmes at the British Council Lahore Rukhsana Asam inaugurated the exhibition whereas a large number of students attended the inaugural ceremony of the exhibition.

Literature of different era, sculpture, paintings, pencil work, water paintings and oil paintings by members of the society were displayed at the exhibition. The literature collection by Chairman of society Amir Maqsood on different ages including ‘The Dark Ages’, ‘The Renaissance’, ‘The Age of Reason’, ‘The Age of Romanticism’, ‘The Victorian Age’ were displayed.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of the Society Aamir Maqsood said that Kaneez Fatima Literary Society is a newly established NGO in Pakistan working internationally for Peace Through Literature. Literature is the most useful subject to create an ambience of unity, brotherhood, sentimental attachment and peace among all human beings upon earth irrespective of their religions, sects, colours and creeds, he added.

“Having covered English Literary Project, the Society intends to undertake such kind of projects in other languages such as German, French, Persian, Punjabi, Urdu, Hindi and Chinese etc. The Society also intends to exhibit its project throughout Universities in all over the world” he added.

The exhibition will remain open till June 13.
