Exhibition of Videos on gender issues begins
ISLAMABAD- A three day exhibition of “Advocacy Videos on Gender” began under the auspices of Advocates of Gender, Education and Health Information (AGEHI) a resource center of SACHET to promote gender awareness and sensitivity among the masses.
About 19 video films were put in the exhibition focusing upon reproductive health rights, gender and empowerment, gender and professions, gender and violence, gender and family planning, gender and Aids and other subject matter for the general public. All the video films have already been aired by Pakistan Television (PTV).
At a briefing on the occasion, Mohammad Arshad Mehmud, Information Officer, SACHET told the visitors that the organisation is striving to narrow the gender gaps in health, education and economic participation in the country.
He said that SACHET will carry on its activities to promote economic empowerment of the under privileged and awareness and sensitivity about sexual and reproductive health information, education, services and rights in Pakistan.
Arshad Saleem said it is a wonderful experience for the organisation in the sense that it will provide them a chance to come further closer to the masses and get aware about their difficulties and problems regarding health and education. He said that exhibition will provide a guide line to society members to evolve a strategy to combat poverty an illiteracy from the society.
Mohammad Arshad Mehmud said that they have got a favourable response from the general public and the organisation will entertain the criticism of the public as well.
