Exhibition of Pakistani truck art held in Ottawa
The High Commission for Pakistan, Ottawa organised a truck art exhibition on Parliament Hill featuring the prominent Pakistani truck artist Haider Ali. The event was attended by a large cross section of people from Ottawa such as senators, MPs, prominent business leaders, media representatives, important government functionaries and the Pakistani origin community in Ottawa.
The high commissioner along with the Canada-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group Chairperson Senator Salma Attaullah Jan inaugurated the exhibition. Introducing the artist, the high commissioner spoke about the significance of truck art in Pakistan and the manner in which it was promoting Pakistani culture and traditions worldwide. He also thanked the audience for their enthusiastic response to the exhibition. Apart from Senator Salma Attaullah Jan, Pakistan’s first foreign secretary Ikramullah’s daughter Naz Ikramullah also spoke on the occasion.
