Eighteenth anniversary of martyred journalists observed

The eighteenth anniversary of journalist Allah Noor and Ameer Nawab, who were martyred on February 7, 2005, was observed with great devotion and respect in District Press Club Wana. Deputy Commissioner South Waziristan Lower Muhammad Nasir Khan, DSP Headquarter Nadir Khan, Youth Officer South Waziristan Lower Sardar Ali Wazir, Tahsildar Wana, Taj Muhammad Wazir from the business community, Imran Mukhlis from PPP and leaders of various political parties participated.

All the participants paid their respects to the martyrs and said that martyrs never die, because they are alive. Addressing the ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner said, “I pay homage to the martyred journalists.” Journalism is a sacred profession, if it is conducted in a positive manner.

He said that journalism is the eyes and ears of society, tribal journalists have played a frontline role in the war against terrorism and have even offered their lives, which can never be forgotten, Journalists should highlight public problems so that they can be solved.
