Education schemes in ADP: Sindh P&D Department approves 48 out of 67 proposals
Karachi: Sindh Planning and Development (P&D) Department has approved 48 out of total 67 Education Department’s proposals for development schemes for the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2012-13, informed sources told Business Recorder here on Thursday.
The P&D Department is engaged in formulation of ADP 2012-13 despite shortage of technical staff.
Officials of various sections of P&D are holding inter-departmental meetings and scrutinising the proposals of schemes submitted by concerned departments, sources said.
An inter-departmental meeting of Education and Literacy Department was held on April 23, at committee room of P&D Department.
The officials of both departments had discussed 67 proposals.
After much discussion, officials of P&D department approved 48 proposals, sources said.
According to a list of proposals obtained by Business Recorder, Establishment of Cluster Hub Schools in Sindh @ UC Level, Up-gradation of Primary Schools to Middle Schools in Sindh (450 Units), Establishment of Elementary Schools in Sindh (400 units), Rehabilitation/Reconstruction & Addition of Class Rooms in Existing Elementary College (Male & Female) District Dadu, Hyderabad & Mithiani District Naushehroferoze, Construction of Library & Class Rooms @ PITE, Shaheed Benazirabad, Improving Teaching Learning Quality in SEF Schools, Introduction of Academic and Infrastructural Reforms in 200 Rural/Katcha Areas Educational Sites and Education & Development for Juvenile and Adult Inmates (Especially Women) in Prison have been approved in the meeting.
Besides, rehabilitation of existing High School & Higher Secondary School in Sindh, Up-gradation of Middle Schools to High Schools in Sindh (300 Units), Up-gradation of High Schools to Higher Secondary Schools in Sindh (30 Units), Establishment of English Medium Schools in Sindh (46 units in Cambridge System Nursery to 0 Level.), Establishment of Memorial Benazir Bhutto High Village Tajjal District Khairpur Mir’s Single High School for Boys
Construction of in Existing School at Mardan Shah-Il (Pir Pagara Club, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi, Construction/re-construction of Dangerous School in Sindh (100 units), Consolidation/Improvement Missing Facilities Public School Sukkur, Mithi, NaushehroFeroze ,Chachro and Badin, Consolidation/ Improvement of Government Muslim High School Sachal High School, Higher Secondary Village Jinjhi Taluka District Tharparkar,
Establishment of Boys / Girls Degree College in remaining Taluka of Sindh (78 Units), Establishment of Cadet College Jacobabad (President’s Directive), Construction of Building for Existing Post Graduate Classes in Degree Colleges in Sindh (10-Units), Miscellaneous Immediate Works Cadet College Larkana, Establishment of Five (5) IBA Community Colleges and Construction of Residual Accommodation for Principals/ Faculty Staff & other Staff at Law Colleges Dadu I/Hala/Larkana & Lyari proposals of schemes are included in said list of approved proposals.
The same list carrying the proposals of Construction of Hostels for Working Women in Existing Girls Colleges in Sindh, Essential Facilities to be Developed for Mehran University College of Engineering & Technology at Khairpur Mir’s, Immediate Need of Sindh University Campus at Mirpurkhas/Badin, Establishment of University of Sufism & Modern Sciences Hala, District Matirari (President’s Directive), Establishment of 02 New Departments & Provision of Missing Facilities in the QUEST, Nawabshah, Establishment of Women University @ Sukkur, Establishment of Sindh University Campus @ Dadu, Development of Human Resource Management information system for Colleges & Schools of Sindh, Provision of ICT Academics in the Existing Colleges of Sindh (300-Units), Provision of Distance Learning Gateway Portable in the Existing Colleges & Schools in Sindh (300 units), Improvement and Capacity Building of Madaris School in Sindh, Extension of Educational Allied Facilities at Sukkur IBA and IBA Community College Khairpur Mir’s, Enhancement of Existing Facilities/Recourses in Education & Literacy Department (HRD), Enhancement of Existing Facilities/Recourses in Directorate of Planning & Development, Education & Literacy Department (HRD), Block Allocation for implementation of Directives, Provision of Transport Facilities to the Field Officers of Education & Literacy Department, Provision of Motorcycles to the Supervisory Staff of Field Offices of Education & Literacy Department through Revolving Funds, Provision of Laptops Computer to Students in Sindh Province (C.M.
