‘Education of flood affected girls on stake’

SHAHEED BENAZIRABAD: The Forum for Human Rights Pakistan has said that 5,000 girls would remain out of schools as the Education Department has miserably failed to rehabilitate damaged schools in the area even after two years of floods and rains.

Speaking to the local community in a gathering arranged by District Governance Group (DGG) members under the programme supported by FAFEN Ashfaq Ahmed Siyal, Advocacy Officer, said girls have to travel far flung areas to complete their academic session.

He shared a comprehensive findings developed by FAFEN depicting the dismal picture of Primary Girls schools in Sakrand and Duar. The survey revealed out of 38 damaged Primary Girls school in Sakrand more than 10 schools of UC Daleel Dero, UC Khadhar and UC Hamal Fakir were completely damaged and educational activities remained suspended.
