Ebad launches website with laws framed since 1823
Karachi: Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad on Thursday inaugurated a website (Sindh Code), on which all laws framed since 1823 till now are available.
The laws have been made available on the website for easy accessability for any reference, according to an official. The website launch ceremony was attended among others by Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (retd) Zahid Kurban Alavi.
Addressing the ceremony, the governor said that it was a good sign that laws and amendments which were made over the last 190 years had been digitalised, which would help even those people who did not belong to the legal profession.
He said the present situation, especially law and order, in Sindh was challenging. He stressed the need for making amendments to laws, especially those related to heinous crimes, so that no culprit got the benefit of legal flaws.
Ebad said amendments to laws regarding land grabbing and encroachments were imperative to protect the state land from being grabbed. He said land grabbing was very common in Sindh.
