E-licence system across Sindh this month
KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information Technology Muhammad Raza Haroon announced on Friday that an electronic driving licence system was being launched this month across the province.
During a visit to a driving licence office branch in Korangi, the minister said this e-licence system was a part of the e-policing project that would be handed over to police by the next month. “The new system will also minimise the chances of the production of fake licences. Those drivers flouting traffic laws will easily be traced with the help of the e-licence system, linked to the NADRA. With the e-policing project, he said, complete record of prisoners would be maintained that would help decrease the crime rate. He said efforts were also underway to track criminals through 200 digital cameras installed in various parts of the city. The IT minister said difficulties being faced by people with the launching of e-license project would be eradicated.
