Dr Kashfi’s services to Urdu literature remembered
Noted Urdu poet and columnist, Jamiluddin Aali, has reminded the intellectuals and academics of Pakistan about the great services to Urdu rendered by the late Dr Abul Khair Kashfi. He urged them to continue the good work done by the departed soul.
Aali praised Dr Kashfi during a condolence meeting held Wednesday at the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST). “It is an established fact that Dr Kashfi was a man of letters, had great literary taste and was a mystic as well,” Aali said.
FUUAST VC Dr Muhammad Qaiser said that Dr KashfiÂ’s entire life was spent in researching the Urdu language and literature. It is therefore imperative that his work is collected, compiled and published for the use of researchers, teachers, students and the common people, he said. Dr Farman Fatehpuri and Dr Aslam Farrukhi also spoke on the occasion.
