Dist govt striving to provide facilities to people: Kanwar

Says a huge amount for improvement of, health and education facilities allocated

HYDERABAD, July 13 2006: District Nazim Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jamil has said that the district govern­ment is striving hard to provide maximum facilities to the people without any discrimination. Besides, the district govern­ment is also making all possible efforts to improve the socio-economic condition of the poor people and provide due assistance to deserving people so that they could be able to achieve their desires, Kanwar said this while addressing the sewing machines distribution ceremony here at Union Council No-1 Qasimabad on Wednesday.

Praising the distribution of sewing machines to deserving women, the district nazim said that the district government fully committed to make each citizen of the district able to share his responsibility and contribute the development of the district. The district government is utilizing its all available resources to provide maximum facilities to the people, he said and added that a series of development schemes have been initiated in every nook and corner of the district so that the people could get basic facilities at their doorsteps.

He said that the district government has initiated its develop­ment plan from the Union Council No-1 Qasimabad where the devel­opment projects ‘ of millions of rupees have been executed in order to make this union council a model union council of the district. The development projects included the establishment of a treatment plant with an amount of Rs 100 million, laying of sewerage line with Rs 70 million, setting up the pumping station in Sheedi Village with Rs 80 mil­lions, development and renovation of Rani Bagh with Rs 60 millions, he said and added that million of rupees are also being spent for laying of water supply lines and construction of asphalt concrete roads. Besides, a five stars hotel will also he established in the said union conned, he added.

Among others, Director General Health Services Dr Hadi Bux Jatoi, Executive District Officer Health Dr Nazar Muhammad Junejo and representatives of taluka and union councils of Qasimabad also present on the occasion. Construction of six new hospitals: Kanwar Naveed Jamil has said that district government has allocated a huge amount for improvement of health and educa­tion facilities and all out efforts are being made to facilitate people at their door steps. The district nazim informed this while speaking as chief guest at a seminar organized by National Programme for Population Planning and Basic Health in con­nection with the World Population Day here July 11 evening.
To provide proper health facility, the district nazim told that con­struction of six new hospitals in different parts of the district has been started while effective meas­ures have also been initiated to provide quality education in the government institutions.

About population control, Kanwar said that rapid growth of population is causing difficulties in provision of basic facilities to masses and there is dire need to prepare a comprehensive plan to create awareness among people in this regard. The fast rising population is not only depriving people of basic civic facilities but has also increased the mortality rate because of lack of health facilities, he said and added that the situation can be controlled if the people realize the impact of rising popula­tion in the country. Among others, Director General Health Services Sindh Dr Hadi Bux Jatoi, Provincial Coordinator National Programme for Population Planning and Basic Health Sindh Qazi Mujataba Jamal and Taluka Nazim Latifabad Engineer Sabir Qaimkhani also spoke.
