Speaking at the launching ceremony of new website of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in Islamabad, she said rules about that bill will be available on the new website.

Marriyum Aurangzeb has also urged media outlets to do self-introspection and accountability in order to enhance their credibility.

she added media in Pakistan has evolved in 70 years to reach at a level where it has become free and vibrant and is fourth pillar of the state.

The Minister said in early 2000s, private TV channels entered the media landscape in Pakistan and lately the social media has also become very active and widely used especially by youth. She said Pakistan has a youth bulge and we have been looking to enact various legislations in order to safeguard youth from cyber risks that come with increased exposure to online media.
