Demand for basic amenities
Talking to newsmen on Sunday, he said that both the cattle piris were looked after by the Taluka Municipal Administration (TMA) Mirpurkhas for the last 40 years but on the eve of Eid-ul- Azha, the contractor shifted it temporarily to another place under a conspiracy to occupy land meant for the piri.He said that now all cattle owners could bring their cattle for sale at the old and genuine places of cattle piri of the city. He said that DPO would also be apprised of harassment of cattle owners by the police and he, along with other office-bearers, would hold negotiations with the Taluka Nazim of Mirpurkhas,
Ghulam Dastagir Khan, to ensure that TMA should discharge its responsibility regarding the piri.He warned contractors not to resort to over-charging and recover the tax as per schedule otherwise a protest campaign would be launched. He advised cattle owners to pay taxes, which is recoverable under schedule and register their complain with the association if any of the officials forced them to pay excess tax.
