Decision on new TV channels soon: Rashid
ISLAMABAD-Minister for Information and Media Development Sheikh Rashid Ahmad on November 24, 2002 said that government well soon take decision on the applications for launching of new private television channels.
In an interview to ARY television, he said decision on private television channels was delayed for two or three years due to bureaucratic difficulties.
Sheikh Rashid said it is his utmost effort to ensure a free media. Nobody can block the ever-increasing flow of media in the present day world.
The Minister hoped media would show responsibility while enjoying its freedom.
He said the government well tolerate criticism in view of the larger interest of the nation.
