DawnNews CEO’s mother passes away
LAHORE: Begum Shakila Masood Hussain, the widow of the late Mian Masood Hussain and mother of Shakeel Masood, the chairman of the Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) and DawnNews CEO, breathed her last here on Saturday.
She was buried in the family graveyard next to her husband in Lahore the same day. Due to current circumstances, only immediate family members attended the funeral.
“We will hold a prayer for her once circumstances allow,” said Shakeel Masood, adding till then friends are requested to pray for her.
Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed sorrow over the demise of Begum Shakila Masood Hussain.
Later, in a statement, the executive committee and members of the Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) expressed sorrow over the demise of the mother of Mr Shakeel.
“On behalf of all its members, the PBA extends its sympathies to the bereaved family and prays to Allah Almighty to give them the courage to bear this irreparable loss and to rest the departed soul in eternal peace,” the statement said.
