CS wants documentary brochure on Sindh department services
He issued these directives while addressing a high-level meeting at his office, convened to review preparations regarding the holding of the Overseas Pakistanis Investment Conference 2007, besides watching a documentary regarding the briefing of all departments. Additional Chief Secretary Nazar Hussain Mehar, Secretaries of Finance department, Agriculture, Culture and Information, Malik Israr Hussain, Muhakam Din Qadri, Abdul Qadir Mangi, Yahya Waliullah, Chairman Chief Minister’s Investment Cell, Muslim Abbasi, Director General Mines, Sohail Akbar Shah, special secretaries and other high officials were also present.
Fazl ur Rehman stressed the need for issuing a documentary brochure about services of all provincial departments, along with incentives for industry, trade, transport, fishing, cattle farming, small industries, agricultural products and mineral resources, so that better facilities could be provided to foreign-based Pakistanis to boost investment. He also sought detailed reports from the agricultural and fishing departments in this context. The theme of Corporate Agricultural Farming was also discussed in the meeting.
The Chief Secretary advised the meeting to obtain the cooperation of Muslim Abbasi and focal person Additional Secretary Implementation, Naheed Shah Durrani for publication of brochure. The next meetings were scheduled for February 4 and 6, 2007 in this regard. It may be noted that the Overseas Pakistanis’ Investment Conference would be held in March in Islamabad. Foreign-based Pakistani investors would be offered special packages in financial aid, import and export strategy in agricultural business, information and media, information technology, telecommunication, housing services (including social services) and cattle farming sectors.
