CPNE boycotts groups involved in attacks on newspapers

KARACHI- The editors of newspapers of Sindh have decided to boycott the political and nonpolitical parties, which will commit terrorism against any newspapers.

“The decision is being implemented with the boycott of the organization which set ablaze copies of the daily Jang, recently, and blocked distribution of the newspaper,” says a press release issued after a meeting of the Regional Committee of the Council of Newspapers Editors (CPNE). The meeting urged President Musharraf to personally take note of these incidents, which impede freedom of the press.
