LAHORE: A condolence reference in commemoration of late Dr Majid Nizami was held at the Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan, which was jointly organised by the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust women’s wing and the Pakistan Movement Workers Trust.

Those who spoke on the occasion included Justice (r) Nasira Javid Iqbal, Begum Mehnaz Rafi, Dr Parveen Khan, Begum Hamid Rana, Prof Shehnaz Satar, Dr Farzana Nazir, Prof Dr Rashida Qureshi and Naila Umar.

The speakers expressed their deep sorrow and grief at the passing away of Dr Majid Nizami and paid him tribute for his splendid services. They observed that, just like the Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Iqbal, Dr Majid Nizami wanted to see women working shoulder to shoulder with men in every field of life.

“The emergence of Pakistan on the 27th of Ramzan was a good omen for the newborn state. Dr MajidNizami was the torch-bearer of the ideology of Pakistan and had an unshakable belief in the bright, safe and secure future of Pakistan. Wherever and whenever he saw any deviation from the ideology of Pakistan, he spoke out boldly,” they added. The ladies vowed to take Dr Majid Nizami’s mission forward and work enthusiastically to transform Pakistan into a modern Islamic, welfare and democratic state exactly in correspondence with the vision of the Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Being associated with Dr MajidNizami for a long time and receiving guidance and inspiration from him the lady speakers termed him their spiritual father.
