Concession given to journalists on rail fares

LAHORE- Pakistan Railways administration has announced that the journalists would be given 50 percent concession in rail fares.

According to a press release issued here on July 10th, 2003, Director Public Relations, Pakistan Railways, would give the fare concession after issuance of Railway Accreditation Card.

Journalists must have Accreditation Cards issued by the Press Information Department and Provincial Director General Public Relations.

As and when a journalist undertakes a railway journey, he will have to submit a letter of authority from the editor or in charge of the news agency/electronic media in favour of the particular journey which will be secured by the booking clerk/station master to be counter checked with the issuing authority.

The Accreditation Card will be issued for six months only to the journalists, it concluded.
