Concept of HR to be included in syllabus: minister
LAHORE (PPI) – Provincial Minister for Human Rights, Makhdoom Ashfaq Ahmad has said that the concept of human rights would be included in the syllabus with a view to sensitise the younger generations with the significance of human rights in the civil societies.
The promotion of human rights would result in strengthenÂing enlightened moderation as well, he added.
He was addressing a function held under the aegis of a non-governmental voluntary organisation at Township on Monday. Stressing upon the NG0s to strive for the wellÂbeing of the needy and the poor around them, he maintained that the pro-active steps taken by the government paved the way for a welfare-oriented society and informed that the welfare and rehabilitation of the women folk, juveniles and the beggars would result in improvÂing the lot of the down trodden.
He said the government had taken steps to sensitise the officials of police and jail departments about human rights.
