CNIC renewal: a question
THE media manager, Nadra, Islamabad, had clarified in letter ‘Nadra clarification’ (May 7, 2009) that “senior citizens, 65 years and above, are exempted from CNIC renewal.”
The clarification came as a great relief to senior citizens whose CNICs were expired or were about to expire.
Now according to some newspapers, Nadra has once again urged senior citizens to have their expired CNICs renewed immediately to avoid any inconvenience in matters where a valid CNIC is compulsory.
Does it mean that exemption given two years ago by the Nadra to CINC holders of 65 years or above has been revoked?
Will Nadra please clarify on this issue to clear ambiguity for the benefit of elderly people having several health problems?
