Chief Minister orders probe into child’s rape
LAHORE, April 2, 2005 : Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi ordered Capital City Police Officer Tariq Saleem Dogar and CM Monitoring Cell Incharge Muhammad Nawaz Malik to investigate the rape of a little girl after she was abducted from Wahdat Colony, according to an official release issued here on April 01.
The release says the chief minister wants the inquiry report within two weeks and has also directed the CM monitoring cell to organise a medical check up of the girl.
Earlier, the girl met the chief minister. She alleged that Sohail Anwar, Chaudhry Hammad, Chaudhry Fazal and their accomplices kidnapped her from her house and took her to Chaklala Scheme, Rawalpindi, where they raped her. The chief minister pledged action against the rapists.
