CDGK toll free complain center soon

Karachi – City District Government Karachi has set up first computerised toll free call center “Citizen Complain Information Center”.

The project IS in final stages to be completed with Rs 140 million to provide round the clock access to citizens to lodge their complaints. Through this new system, the city government, town administrations, KWSB and KBCA will be linked.

This was decided in a meeting chaired by City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal in Civic Center on Wednesday. During the briefing on this new system, the nazim said the complaint center will work round the clock and have the capacity of 25 calls at a time which will also be expandable.
Initially 50 call agents would be hired while the capacity will be increased to 2,500 people.

In this call complain center, 25 people will be available 0in morning, 20 in evening and 5 in nights besides six call agents would perform their duties in each towns.
The nazim will monitor all lodged complaints in night while the heads of KWSB, KBCA, EDOs and town nazims will have the facility to check the complaints regarding their departments and would issue directives to address them.

The complaint center will also be linked with city government’s website where the complainer would obtain the desired information.

Senior town officers in all towns have been made coordinators to construct offices in their respective towns and made close liaison with EDO Information Technology for other relevant matters.

The nazim said it was their duty to resolve citizens’ problems at their doorsteps as it could not be fulfilled without the cooperation of local government departments.
He said the cities in the world have been expanded and the rulers made close contact with citizens to resolve their issues only through using technology.

“Our intention is to made coordination with public on wide scale and provide a platform to people to lodge their complaints to their respective town nazims and concerned departments’ head.

Through this new computerized system, all heads of different departments will check their complaints before leaving to bed and they will be responsible to issue directives to resolve these issues in minimum time”, he added.

He further said the elected leadership of the city will have to active maximum for the success of this system and took notice of public complaints as it will also increase the confidence of citizens on government and its other departments.

He also mentioned that in the first phase, the system will be linked between city government and its other department but later all other civic authorities will be linked. He added that it will not only improve the performance of these departments but the problems of people facing would also be resolved.

He said that the necessary equipment for this system have been brought from abroad and also underline the need of such system for public to lodge their complaints which will have a complete record and feedback on their complaints.He said the system of Citizen Complaint Information System will be implemented within next few months.
