CDA, NAB come up with plan to prevent land scams

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) have formulated a joint strategy to safeguard the people from land frauds.

According to the plan, all the housing schemes would have to submit land documents to the CDA and advertise about the same in one of the national dailies.

They will also be required to identify the piece of land being sold to customers. Similarly, a coloured layout plan of the scheme must also be published in newspapers.

Under the new rules, there will be three copies of the allotment letter – one each for the allottee, the CDA and the respective housing society.

The authority will issue no objection certificates only to those housing societies that fully complied with these conditions.

Meanwhile, CDA Director Urban Planning Ghulam Sarwar Sindhu has issued notifications to all the housing schemes in Zone-II, directing them to identify their territory and install pillars.
