Case against 12 for ‘raping’ 3 dancers

VEHARI: Mailsi Saddar police on Wednesday registered a case against 12 people under women protection law for allegedly raping three dancers at Mauza Ghulam Sindhi. Reports said on Jan 12, `S’, `B’ and `N’ had performed dance at the wedding ceremony of landlord Nasim Daha. After the function, about eight people, including the groom’s friends, had raped them. On the complaint of victims’ father Falak Sher Bhatti, police have registered a case against 12 people. The nominated accused are: Nasim Daha, Maqbool, Malik, Abbas, Azher Khan, Farid, Mukhtar and Kabir. However, no arrests were made.

Dr Musarat Farhan of Malisi THQ hospital said she would be in a position to confirm rape only after chemical examination report from some Multan or Lahore lab. KILLED: Two motorcyclists were killed in an accident on Sahoka-Burewala Road here on Wednesday evening. Reports said Ansar, Safdar and Amir were on their way home by a bike. Near Chak no 313/EB, an oil tanker hit them as result of which Ansar and Safdar were killed on the spot while Amir was admitted to hospital. Driver of the oil tanker managed his escape. A case has been registered.
