Cameraman deported for misbehaving with hotel staffer

MULTAN: The South African cameraman who was accused of trying to molest a female receptionist of a local hotel has been deported immediately on the instructions of the local administration.

A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesman confirmed that the cameraman would be flying down to Dubai and from there to his home in South Africa.

“We have also told the television company for whom he was working in this series that he has been declared ‘persona non grata’ for future assignments in Pakistan,’ he added.

The decision to deport the cameraman came late Sunday evening after the local administration told the Board that it had come to the conclusion after investigations that the complaint by the female receptionist was true and that the cameraman had indeed misbehaved with her in a drunken state and tried to sexually abuse her.

The Board spoke with the the Dubai-based television channel, Ten Sports who agreed immediately to deport the cameraman.

The alleged incident that occurred on March 27, night at the Sheza Inn hotel has resulted in widespread condemnation of the cameraman.

DPO police Hamid Mukhtar Gondal said that they had received a report of misbehaviour of the cameraman with the hotel receptionist and the SP was investigating the matter and will submit his report later in the day.
