Cable Television lines cut, stolen in Kohat

KOHAT- Unidentified persons cut off cable line in various parts of the city and 150 meter long main wire was stolen in KDA in the middle of night.

The transmission could not be resumed in many parts till filing of the report as the cable operators were reluctant to lay new wire blaming some people of a particular religious group who had cut off main line in the city area the fourth time and stolen wire in KDA worth thousand of rupees, as a sequel to threats to stop the service.

However, in areas where the repair was possible the operators had restored the transmission on temporary basis. They said that for genuine results the whole main needed to be replaced for which arrangements were under way but this could take a few days because the cost involved was too high. Over the last two month replacements had been made three times, which caused them substantial losses, they said.

They had lodged FIRs but the problem was still there, they lamented. The cable operators had launched a hunt for the culprits on their own after the police failed to make any arrests despite their complaints against particular religious outfit they say was behind the wire thefts and cutting of main transmission lines.
