Bus hostess rape case disposed of
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court chief justice on Wednesday disposed of the suo motu case of abduction and gang-rape of a bus hostess.
Earlier, the chief justice was informed that co-accused Irshad Bhatti had been arrested and sent behind the bars in a Sialkot prison.
The chief justice directed the investigation officer to submit challan against the accused within two weeks before the trial court.
He also asked the Sialkot district and sessions judge to hold trial of the accused either himself or assign a special judge of an anti-terrorism court. With these directions he disposed of the case.
A Daewoo Bus Service hostess after her duty at midnight on Feb 6 last left the Sialkot terminal for her house along with the driver and gunman of the company. A car followed the van and two of its occupants abducted the girl. They took the girl to a house near Sialkot city and allegedly gang-raped her and threw her on the roadside the next morning.
Sarfraz Husain was arrested the same day while his accomplice, Irshad Bhatti had been captured the other day.
