Burka Avenger Season 4 hits TV screens
Haroon Rashid’s award-winning animated TV show Burka Avenger continues to maintain strong foothold as it progresses into its fourth season. The show aired its first episode on Sunday and promises to remain true to its purpose, tackling social issues that plague our society like gender discrimination and lack of proper education.
On the content of the new season, Rashid said in a statement, “The production quality and storytelling is the best so far. Burka Avenger will continue to push boundaries further this season by tackling socially relevant issues such as sectarian violence, stealing is wrong, struggling for peace and having the courage to fight for your rights One of the key messages that we want to give the youth is that with courage and unity, anything is possible.”
The school teacher-turned-masked avenger has turned into an inspirational fictional figure representing Pakistan at various international awards platforms including the Emmys, Peabody Award and the International Gender Equity Prize. The show has also travelled to both India and Afghanistan and if rumours are true, it may soon be adapted into a feature film.
