British Council holds training seminars for journalists

LAHORE (October 29 2008): The British Council held a certificate distribution ceremony at the Lahore Press Club for the journalist participants of training seminars here on Tuesday.

The British Council has teamed up with the Foreign Press Association and Lahore Press club to launch a series of powerful training seminars, in order to support media professionals to rise to the global challenge of tackling the changing face of journalism.

While addressing the ceremony, British Council Director Darrin Vardon said these are interesting times we live in, a journalist’s phrase that is always appropriate and especially today for journalists. Everyone in these turbulent economic times is reaching for a newspaper or watching news TV channels to get acquainted with detail and analysis of what is happening and why.

New technology like on-line newspapers, e-community sites means that the way people consume news is radically changing and the challenge is for journalists to respond to this. He told the participants that such training seminars would also be held in other provinces as well in the region.
