Bomb targeting Khyber journalists defused
KHYBER AGENCY – Bomb disposal squad on Friday disposed of a remote-control improvised explosive device, which was allegedly fixed by militants to target the vehicle of local media person.
Sharing the incident details, Tehsildar Tehseenullah said that local journalist Khalil Jibran, along with his four other colleagues, were on the way to Charwazgai checkpoint for the coverage of a car rally when Khasadar troops on duty noticed a suspected object hanging down the vehicle engine.
After alerted, the media persons abruptly parked the car on the roadside. The BDS men arrived at the spot and disposed of the explosive. The five journalists were taken to forces cantonment for investigation, forces official told.
