Bomb blast outside Jang office in Quetta

QUETTA:Feb.25: A powerful bomb went off outside the boundary wall of daily Jang at Mir Khalilur Rehman Road here on Tuesday.

The bomb that exploded with a big bang at around 10:22 am smashed windowpanes of nearby buildings, shaking the nerves of already frightened people of the city, who have been hearing such explosions since April 2000. However, no loss of life was reported. The explosion made two feet deep crater.

Police and bomb disposal squad officials rushed to the scene and started probe into the matter. It was a locally made time-bomb, said a senior police official.

Over three dozen bomb explosions and rocket firing incidents have been reported from different parts of Balochistan, including Quetta and Kohlu, since January 1, 2004 against over 28 dozens rocket firing and bombs explosion incidents in 2003.
