Body to help families of deceased journalists
PESHAWAR: The Journalists Welfare, Safety and Development Foundation (JWSDF); Pakistan, has decided to compile data of the orphans and widows of the slain media persons and to make arrangements for education, healthcare, livelihood and shelter for the terrorism-affected families.The decision was taken at a meeting of the foundations’ office-bearers, which was held at Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday.Chaired by Syed Bukhar Shah, foundation patron, the meeting decided that in the first phase complete data would be compiled about the deceased media persons to know about present source of income of the bereaved families.Similarly, data of the ailing and jobless journalists will also be collected so that they could be supported financially.
