Body of girl found in neighbour’s house
FAISALABAD: An 11-year-old girl who had gone missing on Tuesday from her Mughulpura house was found dead with strangulation marks on her neck in a neighbour’s house.
When Aqsa Khizar went missing, her father, Liaqat Ali, went to Mansoorabad police station house officer Rehman Qadir for a case and requesting the launch of search to find Aqsa. Local residents said the police officer refused to lodge the case and asked Ali to locate his daughter on his own.
They said the body of Aqsa was found in the residence of Bilal, a man with “loose morals”. They alleged the man had kidnapped Aqsa and killed her after sexually assaulting her.
Sohail Ahmad, brother of Bilal, called the police when he found the body in the house and the area people identified the body.
Residents snatched the body from the police and took to the streets blocking main Sheikhupura Road for four hours. They chanted slogans against the police and held SHO Qadir responsible for the death of Aqsa.
Senior Superintendent of Police (operations) Sarfraz Falki suspended Mr Qadir from services on dereliction of duties.
Police also took into custody Bilal’s mother, Parveen Bibi, for interrogation and registered a case against Bilal.
