Bodies of four journalists arrive

PESHAWAR- The dead bodies of four foreign journalists killed in Afghanistan were shifted from Torkham to Islamabad from where these will be sent to their native countries. The four journalists were killed by unknown criminals at Rekhmeen Tangi between Jalalabad and Sarobi towns of Kabul province.

Their bodies were brought to Torkham in a Red Cross vehicle from Jalalabad on Wednesday morning. A number of local and foreign journalists were present at the Torkham border to receive the bodies.

Four journalists Harry Andrew of Reuters, Azizullah Haideri of Reuters, MS Maria Cultui of daily Corriere Della Sera from Italy and Julio Fuentes from Spain had left Jalalabad for Kabul to cover developments in Afghanistan in the wake of arrival of UN peacekeeping forces and its Special Envoy’s efforts to form a broad-based government in Afghanistan.
