Blaze erupts in Techno City, damages TV channel’s equipment
KARACHI: Fire erupted in the 17-floor Techno City Corporate Tower on II Chundrigar Road early on Thursday and caused damage to furniture, fixtures and equipment of a private TV channel.
However, no casualties were reported. As per the sources, the fire started on the second floor in the electric generator room caused by a faulty electrical vent; and the damage to a private TV channel’s technical equipment and office decor resulted in a transmission halt, while the staff was evacuated following the fire alarm.
A fire brigade team later doused the flames, during which one of the fire fighters received minor burns and was taken to a nearby hospital.
