Blast rocks Taj Cinema in Mardan
MARDAN: A bomb blast damaged the walls of Taj Cinema located in Taj Bazaar here late Sunday. However, no casualty was reported.
Officials said two locally made bombs exploded at 10 pm. District Police Officer Tahir Khan told The News that the officials had warned the cinema management a week ago about the possibility of sabotage.
The cinema was closed down after the blast. Mardan, the second largest district of the Frontier province, witnessed several bombings in the recent past. On May 18, a suicide attack at a bakery in the Cantonment area left 13 people, including four security personnel, dead and 22 others injured.
