Bill on honour killing to be passed soon
ISLAMABAD – A law on honour killing would be passed soon to help control the crime, said Wasi Zafar, the federal law minister.
“The Law Ministry would submit its report to the standing committee of the parliament. As soon as the report is submitted, we shall formally move the bill and voting will take place after a debate, Zafar told BBC Radio.
He hoped that the passage of the bill and its proper implementation would prevent honour killings. The minister dispelled the notion that some committee members had objected to the bill because it opposed Pakistan’s social values.
