BD media team visits Recorder House
KARACHI: A visiting 10-member media delegation of Bangladesh on Monday visited the Recorder House.
During their visit, the members of the delegation had an interactive session with journalists representing Business Recorder and Aaj TV.
Chief Executive of Aaj TV channel and Publisher Business Recorder Asif A. Zuberi briefed the delegation about his country’s media scene.
About the Recorder Group, Asif Zuberi said that his late father M.A. Zuberi launched the Muslim world’s first financial daily – Business Recorder – in 1965. Before he launched Business Recorder, Zuberi had served in Dawn at a senior position.
He said the Business Recorder Group launched its first TV news channel – Aaj TV in 2005. Later, it launched an entertainment channel namely “Play TV”. He further said that the test transmissions of the Group’s third TV channel “Aaj Entertainment” have begun and the channel was ready to be launched anytime soon.
The visiting delegation led by Hamiduzzaman, Advisor, Research and Communication Bangladesh Institute of Peace and Security Studies was on official visit to Pakistan and will visit many media houses here. The other members of the delegation were Zahirul Alama, Chief Correpondent NTV (TV Channel), Ms. Tehsina Sadeque Reporter Somy Television, Shahnaj Begum Special Correspondent The Independent, Sharif Md. Saddiqul Islam Chief Correspondent Daily New Age (English Newspaper), Rumi Noman Joint Chief News Editor ATN Bangla (TV Channel), Muhammad Ruhul Amin Associate Professor Dhaka University Department of International Relations, Md. Abdul Majid Diplomatic Correspondent Daily Samakal (Bangla Newspaper) and Khandker Asifur Rehman Senior Reporter Daily Ittefaq (Bangla Newspaper).
