Baloch Cultural Day celebrated

HYDERABAD, March 2: A large number of activists of Baloch Ittehad Rabita Committee led by District President Qamaruddin Baloch and others including Mohammad Zahid Baloch and Zulfiqar Ali Baloch staged a big rally outside the press club here on Wednesday to celebrate the “Baloch Culture Day.”

Small rallies were taken out from four talukas of the district which joined the main rally from Baloch Town Latifabad. A cultural show was also held in the Baloch Town Latifabad where children presented tableau.

Participants of the rally, were attired in traditional Balochi dresses.

They raised slogans of Jeay Baloch, Jeay Sindh and Jeay Quaid-e-Tahreek, Anwar Bhaijan. The rally terminated at the press club after marching on main roads.

Mirpurkhas correspondent reported that a big rally was taken out by Baloch Ittehad on Wednesday from the Railway Station Chowk to the press club to celebrate the Baloch Cultural Day.

The rally was led by Saeed Baloch and scores of participants, including women and children were wearing their traditional dresses along with Sindhi cap and Ajrak. They carried banners while passing through main roads. A Balochi band marched with the participants while youths danced to the tunes of cultural songs.

Saeed Baloch said that Baloch culture was developed some 1,400 years back and the people of this community were patriotic but deprived of their rights.

He said that the government had denied facilities and rights to Baloch nation but now they would get their rights through a struggle that had been launched in the country.
