Awards for Television, radio artistes
LAHORE- The Cultural Association of Pakistan Graduates announced annual awards for television, radio and stage artistes.
According to a Press release, Abdul Rauf Khalid was named the best writer for drama serial Lag, while Fahim Burney was declared the best director for Manzalain. Mahmood Aslam was declared the best actor for drama serial Rait Ka Shehr, while Zeba Bakhtiar the best actress for Lag.
Asghar Nadeem Syed was named the best writer for individual play Thodi Si Roshni and Ayub Khawar the best director for Cat Walk. Wasim Abbas was named the best actor for individual play Family Front, while Jia Ali was adjudged the best actress for Thodi Si Roshni.
A special prize was announced, for Nadia Khan for her performance in Manzalian, while Samina Ahmad will be given a production award for Family Front. Farrukh Bashir, Qadir Ali Shaggan, Ghulam Ali, Hamid Ali Khan, Zille Huma, Humaira Arshad, Fariha Parvez, Abrarul Haq, Tarannum Naz, Surraya Khanum and Shazia Khushk will be given awards in various music categories. Hasan Rizvi and Nadia Khan will get awards for their good work in compering.
Mussarat Kalanchvi (best writer), Riaz Mehmood (best director), Sohail Asghar (best actor), Rehana Siddiqui (best actress), Mujahid Hussain (best music composer), Anwar Rafi best singer light music), Shabnam Majid (best singer light music), Mehmood Ahmad Qadri (best singer folk music), Shumaila Khan (best singer folk music) Abeeda Syed (best producer FM 101) and Qari Sadaqat (Qurat) were named for various categories of radio.
Munir Raj, Irfan Khoosat, Babbu Baral, Irum Hasan and Mian Muhammad Bashir will get awards for various stage categories. A meeting of the association was held under the chairmanship of senior vice-chairman Mian Nazir Azhar.
