Attaullah Tarar Emphasizes Need for AI-Powered International Fact-Checking Organization
Addressing the Saudi Media Forum 2025, Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar cited a World Economic Forum report that identified fake information as the biggest challenge of the current era. He proposed the establishment of an international organization or media outlet, with a “system of facts checking,” comprising countries as member states equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) and other technological tools to verify the credibility of information.
During his address, he emphasized Pakistan’s human resources and stressed the need for international partnerships to enhance skills development of the media and achieve technological advancement.
Arriving in Saudi Arabia, he underscored the historical and cultural ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, praising the “exemplary” vision of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for development and prosperity.
“Saudi Arabia is a close friend of Pakistan, and its initiatives in economic development and business expansion are commendable,” Tarar stated.
