Asma condemns killing of journalist
LAHORE—President, Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Asma Jahangir has strongly condemned the mysterious killing of renowned journalist Syed Saleem Shahzad after he was kidnapped.
Asma demanded of the federal government to conduct complete inquiry into the murder of Saleem Shahzad and expose the forces behind the incident wherein an innocent journalist has lost his life.
Asma expressed high concern on the fragile security condition in Pakistan where life and property of the citizens was not at all and the people were being kidnapped and killed every next day by unknown hands.
The SCBA presidents said Saleem had committed no wrong except that he was performing his professional duties honestly. Asma said Saleem had published a couple of investigative news reports against Al Quada and Taliban. Asma said killing of Saleem speaks volumes about the conditions in Pakistan in the wake of unsatisfactory working of the security agencies which are unable to protect the people.
