ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has termed the programme aired by ARY News on January 25, 2015 against the standards of journalistic ethics and a provocative conspiracy against judiciary to prevent it from playing its constitutional role and to influence its working.

In a press release issued by IHC Deputy Registrar (Admin) Imran Khan Sikandari, he said that the show was aired by ARY News at 05:8 on Sunday evening (January 25, 2015) in which formation of a two-member bench to hear the Mumtaz Qadri case that is on the IHC’s Cause List for January 27, 2015 was discussed. Violating all the media ethics, an attempt was made to make IHC Judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui controversial in the show. Pictures in which Raja Yasir Shakeel Advocate was kissing the cheek of Mumtaz Qadri were being attributed to Mr Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui. The pictures are being circulated on the social and electric media.

According to the press release, Mr Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui has nothing to do with the photos and gives his verdicts independently as per the laws and without any pressure. He has never been a lawyer for the accused and a part of any campaign. The campaign on the social and electric media is a conspiracy to influence the working of judiciary, which is a crime as per the Pakistani laws, it added.

It should be noted the same channel also leveled such allegations in the past. It has already tendered apology twice – once before the LHC and again before the SC. This is its third attempt to malign the judiciary.

This channel had also leveled baseless allegations against several persons and cases in this connection are in courts. They use to utter Islamic sermons to deceive people in believing them.
