Art exhibition on Pakistan inaugurated

Art beautifies the society and in order to keep it lively fine arts should be valued. Lieutenant General Muhammad Ahsan Mahmood, HI(M), Chairman POF Board, said this while addressing the inauguration ceremony of a paintings exhibition titled “Pakistan – Past and Present” by an eminent painter of the country Aftab Zafar organised under the auspices of POF management at Central Library Wah Cantt, says a press release issued here on Thursday.

Chairman POF Board who was also the Chief Guest of the ceremony said that the motive behind such exhibition was to educate the youth about Islamic history, cultural heritage and creation of Pakistan through pictorial depiction. Such events help in appreciating the fine arts and bringing a positive change in social behaviours of the masses. This effort by POF administration is for the same cause. Chairman POF Board emphasised on the students that they should try to learn more and more from the legendary Artist.

Aftab Zafar, while addressing the ceremony told about his professional career, which spans over 55 years. As many as 140 master pieces of paintings made with the help of water colour and ink on different topics including Islamic Ghazwaat, Pakistan Movement, Anchorites, National Culture, Quranic verses and Hadith’s of Prophet (PBUH) have seen displayed in the exhibition. Aftab Zafar has the honour to receive an appreciation letter by Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. In recognition of his legendary work, Aftab Zafar has also been given the title of “Mussawir-e-Pakistan”
