APNS member dies

MIRPURKHAS: Senior journalist and member All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) Dost Ali Bhatti died after protracted illness at Agha Khan Hospital, Karachi on late Monday night.

According to reports, seniour journalist Dost Ali Bhatti, 65 was the district reporter of daily Sindhi Ibrat at Mirpurkhas and was the chief editor of weekly Paighame Sindh,
Mirpurkhas. He was the founder of Mirpurkhas Press Club. He was admitted to Agha Khan Hospital when he fell ill a month ago. He was diagnosed with lungs cancer.

Bhatti’s condition was serious on Monday and late night he was expired. His body was brought at his ancestral town, Tando Allah Yar on Tuesday morning. Hundreds of people including journalists, friends, and relatives attended his funeral. He was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard Kande Wasi at Tando Allah Yar after Zohar prayers.

He left behind a widow. Dost Ali Bhatti was elected several times as president Mirpurkhas Press Club. Joint condolence meeting of National Press Club
Mirpurkhas and Mirpurkhas Union of journalists (MUJ) which was held on Tuesday here which was presided by Afaq Ahmed Khan.

Meeting expressed its deep grief over his death and pray to Allah to grant fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
