APNS expresses grief over Mustafa Sadiq’s death

KARACHI: Hameed Haroon, President, Sarmad Ali, Secretary General, APNS, on behalf of the office-bearers and members of the society have expressed profound grief over the sad demise of Mustafa Sadiq, distinguished publisher, Daily Wifaq, Lahore.

The APNS had awarded Lifetime Achievement Award to Sadiq on March 28, 2011. Mustafa Sadiq, born at Mozia Berchha, Tehsil Dasuya, District Hoshyarpur, did Honors in Persian in 1946 from the University of Punjab, Lahore. He took active part in the Pakistan Movement and worked with Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah as a Muslim League worker up to 1948. He joined the Jamaat-e-Islami in 1948 and was appointed as secretary Jamaat-e-Islami, Lahore, in 1950.

He worked in Daily Tasneem, 1954-57 and was editor of Daily Afaq, Faisalabad, from 1957-59. He founded his own publication of Wifaq in 1959. He also published weekly Ittefaq, Lahore. All the editions of Wifaq are members of the APNS. Since the very beginning, he was continuously elected as member of the Standing and Executive Committee of CPNE and APNS respectively. He was elected President CPNE in 1988 and president of APNS in 1991 and 1993.

APNS office-bearers have expressed their condolence and prayed that Almighty Allah may rest the departed soul in peace and give patience to the bereaved family and friends to bear the irreparable loss.
